چکیده
Abstract High-pressure homogenization is the state of art to produce high-quality emulsions with droplet sizes in submicron range. In simultaneous and mixing (SHM), an additional stream inserted into a modified nozzle order create synergies between unit operation mixing. this work, influence on cavitation patterns after cylindrical orifice investigated. Shadow-graphic images were taken using high-speed camera optically accessible chamber. Results show that adding can contribute coalescence bubbles. Choked was observed at higher numbers σ increasing stream. The became more significant outlet ratio, where hydraulic flip also . decrease intensity back-pressure found be identical conventional high-pressure homogenization. future, results account SHM process design improve efficiency break-up by preventing or least flip.

Extending Applications of High-Pressure Homogenization by Using Simultaneous Emulsification and Mixing (SEM)—An Overview
Conventional high-pressure homogenization (HPH) is widely used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries among others. In general, its aim is to produce micron or sub-micron scale emulsions with excellent product characteristics. However, its energy consumption is still very high. Additionally, several limitations and boundaries impede the usage of high-pressure homogenization for sp...
متن کاملHomogenization principles and effect of mixing on dielectric behavior
This paper consists of two parts. First, a review of classical mixing principles lists the multitude of the various ways to characterize the effective permittivity of heterogeneous materials. Different connections between the various mixing formulas are underlined and the homogenization principles are classified into families of mixing rules. The second part emphasizes and analyzes the richness...
متن کاملHomogenization of the mantle by convective mixing and diffusion
Mantle convection stirs and homogenizes the subducted oceanic lithosphere with the convecting mantle. Convective mixing stretches and thins the subducted oceanic crust from an original thickness of 6 km to a thickness of 2 cm or less. The thinned, subducted oceanic crust can be observed as pyroxenite bands in high-temperature peridotite massifs. On the scale of centimeters, the bands are destro...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Homogenization and mixing measures for a replenishing passive scalar field
The efficiency with which an incompressible flow mixes a passive scalar field that is continuously replenished by a steady source-sink distribution has been quantified using the suppression of the mean scalar variance below the value it would attain in the absence of the stirring. We examine the relationship this mixing measure has to the effective diffusivity obtained from homogenization theor...
